There is a great deal of uncertainty over Mohun Bagan's sponsorship as the 'King of Good Time' Vijay Mallya decided to sell 53.4% stake in United Spirit Limited to U.K based Diageo Plc.
It is interesting to see whether Diageo will provide financial support to the sporting assets of UB which includes one of the most prominent football clubs of India, Mohun Bagan. UB became the sponsor of Mohun Bagan in the year 1998 and the club was renamed as McDowell Mohun Bagan.
The club officials are hopeful to get the financial support from the new owners, but the UB officials refused to confirm whether the support will be continued or not. The followers of the club have to wait for some more time to understand the financial fate of their club.
