This is the blog of a sports enthusiast, who not only watches sports, but lives in sports.
Sport is in my blood, right from my childhood. I cherish the moments when East Bengal beats Mohun Bagan in a derby or the national cricket team of India wins any major competition. Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar in cricket and Krishanu Dey, I.M.Vijayan in football used to be my idols. At a later stage, the athletic prowess of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Baichung Bhutia amazed me. I always wanted to become like them, entertaining the entire nation by sporting performances.
This passion for sports directed me to do a course on Sports Management from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Kolkata, the first and one of the most reputed management institutes in India.Prior to that, I completed M.A. in Economics.
I entered into the sports industry as Research Executive of Comperio Research, a division of IMG. All India Football Federation (AIFF), the apex body of football in India, was my next destination where I was assigned to coordinate the I League. AIFF gave me the opportunity to learn the business of football from the captains of the football industry. After completing my tenure with AIFF, I joined New World Consulting, a Bangalore- based sports management company, in the capacity of the Assistant Manager, Research and Consultancy. Currently, I am working as the Member of Faculty of the Sports Management Department of IISWBM.
I am creating this blog to share my views on various topics of sports and to understand the views of others on the same.I hope, this interactive platform will enable us to initiate new discussions which will play an instrumental role in providing a direction to the sporting activities of this country.
