Chirag Computers has bought 60% controlling stake in Viva Kerala. The club, after completing necessary formalities, will be known as Chirag Kerala.
Chirag Computers, a Kolkata- based company owned by the R.P. Group of Companies, was the sponsor of United Sports Club in the past few seasons. A rift with the management of United Sports Club forced the company to make an agreement with another I-League Club, Viva Kerala.
Viva Kerala, on the other hand, has not renewed their sponsorship agreement with Musli Power which was the sponsor of the club since 2006.
Viva Kerala secured 10th position in the last I-League. It can be expected that this agreement with Chirag Computer will help them to improve their performance in the major tournaments in India.
